STUDENT VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

The ISC Student Volunteer Program provides a fantastic opportunity to engage with some of the brightest minds in HPC. You’ll have the chance to connect with established scientists, up-and-coming researchers, and key organizations that are at the forefront of technological advancements.

We value diversity and encourage applications from students of all backgrounds within STEM disciplines. Join us for five days filled with immersive experiences that will expand your knowledge and network in the world of high performance computing!

Our partner, Women in High Performance Computing (WHPC), was created to encourage women’s participation in the HPC community. They provide fellowship, education, and support to women and organizations that employ them. Through collaboration and networking, WHPC strives to unite women in HPC and technical computing while encouraging them to engage in outreach activities and improve the visibility of inspirational role models.

Volunteering offers numerous personal and professional benefits beyond simply contributing to the event:

Requirements & Responsibilities

  • You must be enrolled in a PhD, master’s, or full-time undergraduate program at the time of the conference.
  • You must be able to speak English fluently.
  • You must be willing to work* at least 25 hours before and during the conference and be available in Hamburg from June 20 to June 27, 2026.
  • You are responsible for all your travel expenses. Your university may sometimes offer financial support, so inquire about funding.

 

*NOTE: Supporting duties before and during the conference will include tasks such as assisting with attendee check-in, serving as a doorkeeper during sessions, delivering microphones to the audience, providing technical support to the ISCnet team or event technicians, monitoring catering areas, and counting attendees, among other responsibilities.

Only complete applications that meet the mentioned requirements will be considered. Please include:

  • A brief cover letter
  • Concise curriculum vitae (CV) / résumé
  • Valid, dated student identification card or matriculation certificate
  • Official recommendation letter from a professor/supervisor
