Abstract:
For applications that can withstand the loss of individual nodes, Google Compute Engine preemptible VM instances provide an extremely cost-effective solution to high-throughput computing problems. This talk will cover the properties of preemptible instances, their advantages and constraints, best practices for their use, and use cases in scientific and high-performance computing.
