Dr. Balazs GerofiResearch Scientist, RIKEN Advanced Institute for Computational Science
Balazs Gerofi is a research scientist in RIKEN Advanced Institute for Computational Science (AICS), where he is actively involved in the design and development of Japan’s next generation exa-scale supercomputer. Previously, he was an assistant professor at the Department of Computer Science in the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology of The University Of Tokyo, where he received his Ph.D. in 2012. His research is mainly focused on system software and parallel/distributed computing. In particular, he is interested in operating systems (kernel architectures for many-core CPUs, memory management, file systems), system software for high-performance computing, cloud-computing. He also has a deep interest in resilience and fault tolerant computing. Balazs is a member of the IEEE Computer Society, the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ).
