Alexander Reinefeld is a Director at Zuse Institute Berlin (ZIB) and a Professor for Parallel and Distributed Systems at Humboldt-University Berlin. He received his PhD in Computer Science in 1987 from the University of Hamburg. After having spent two years at the University of Alberta (Canada) he became Assistant Professor at the University of Hamburg and thereafter Managing Director at the Paderborn Center for Parallel Computing. He co-founded the North German Supercomputing Alliance, the Global Grid Forum, and the German e-science initiative D-Grid. His research interests include scalability and fault tolerance for exascale systems and heterogeneous computing. |
