Dr. Philipp NeumannSenior Researcher, German Climate Computing Center
Dr. Philipp Neumann holds a diploma in techno-mathematics from the University Erlangen-Nuremberg and a PhD in informatics (scientific computing) from the Technical University of Munich. His research addresses multiscale simulation in fluid dynamics and high-performance computing for flow problems. Employed as scientific program manager, he managed the DFG Priority Program “Software for Exascale Computing” (SPPEXA; Dec 2013-Oct 2016). Since October 2016, he is in charge of the preparation of a high-resolution weather and climate simulation based on the ICON framework at the German Climate Computing Center (DKRZ) and involved in the coordination of the corresponding H2020 “Centre of Excellence in Simulation of Weather and Climate in Europe” (ESiWACE). |
